Couture Designers Costello Tagliapietra Launch Plus-Size Line

In an exclusive with Chubstr , designers Costello Tagliapietra announced the launch of JCRT, a line of plaid button-down shirts with sizes up to 4X for men, 2X for women. While Costello Tagliapietra are known for women's couture gowns, the duo's uniform of button-down plaid shirts and suspenders are iconic. With first-hand knowledge that well-fitting plus-size button-down shirts are hard to come by, JCRT was born. Robert Tagliapietra of Costello Tagliapietra explains: “We’ve always been big boys, and tailored our own shirts. We know the struggle of finding a shirt that fits. We made these shirts for the guys who can’t, or don’t know how to go about tailoring their own clothes.” The limited-edition line features plaid patterns hand drawn exclusively by the design team. (Patterns are usually designed on a computer, then transferred to an article of clothing and copied.) Armholes are widened, and shirt tails are extended to accommodate a bigger frame. As predicted by Chubstr, the 4Xs in men and 2Xs in women are currently sold out.
