Study: Plus Size Social Media Accounts Benefit Women

According to a recent study, women who follow social media models and influencers they can relate to helps their overall psychological health. In a new study by Florida State University, researchers discovered that women are more likely to pay attention to and remember average and plus size models in the media compared to thinner models. "By measuring psychophysiological responses during image exposure, we were able to gain insights into the real-time cognitive and emotional responses that unfold when women are exposed to different-size media fashion models," says Russell Clayton, assistant professor in the FSU School of Communication, director of the Cognition and Emotion Lab and lead author of the study. This study makes sense. Most people follow certain social media accounts for inspiration, but when it turns into envy and self-loaving, it's time to hit the unfollow button.
