Study: Weight Loss is Hazardous to Obese Diabetics' Health

In a study published by Wolters Kluwer Health last month, researchers found that overweight and obese diabetic patients who are advised to lose weight by doctors are actually risking their health. The recent studies showed that weight loss (and not weight gain) in obese diabetics may be tied to harmful long-term survival in patients with diabetes. This meta-analysis aimed to examine the relationships between weight loss patients and diabetes. This study comes on the heels of recent articles about plus size patients who are getting mis-diagnosed by doctors who think high BMIs are the root of all health problems.
