The Plus Bus Makes Stop at a Brick and Mortar Shop

A Los Angeles pop-up shop for plus-size clothing now has a permanent stop. The Plus Bus , which first hit the road in January, sells plus-size clothing to shoppers in the L.A. area, where they can swap in their gently-used clothing sizes 14 and up for new duds. Founded by Marcy Guevara and Jen Wilder, customers can bring in their unwanted clothing to The Plus Bus for cash or store credit, but are encouraged to buying items in-store. (If you just want to donate clothing, they'll donate your stuff to a local shelter.) The advantage of shopping at The Plus Bus is that you'll most likely find something in your size of similar value to what you just donated. The Plus Bus, located in the Chipp's And Mark building in Northeast Los Angeles, will offer customers one-on-one sessions to help build a wardrobe and styling advice. The Plus Bus should make stops nationwide, as plus-size shoppers should experience the same kind of retail therapy and a sense of community that straight-size shoppers take for granted.
