Why Are So Many People Offended by Tess Holliday's Pregnancy?

At the beginning of the year, plus size model Tess Holliday announced she was pregnant with her second child. Since then, Holliday has been subjected to even more public scrutiny for being with child and obese.

Doctors warn women of the risks connected to obesity and pregnancy: On-set pregnancy diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney damage, complications with labor, and miscarriages. Children born to obese mothers face health risks like the slight increase of birth defects or the chance of developing heart disease or diabetes in adulthood

Since the announcement, Holliday took to social media several times to assure her followers that she and her baby are healthy. Last week, Holliday was featured in Telegraph U.K. with a photoshoot featuring the Eff Your Beauty Standards founder barely covered up by a tunic (from her line at Pennington's).

Holliday's Telegraph interview received negative reactions from people who lashed out at her through social media. Coupled with the insults she faced from strangers IRL asking about her pregnancy, Hollday posted her response via Instagram today and once again defended herself—accompanied by another scantily-clad photo.

". . . I will continue to live unapologetically, to thrive in this body, prove the naysayers wrong & laugh at the ignorance"

Holliday is due next month, and claims her doctor gave her and the baby a clean bill of health. When a doctor gives Holliday a thumbs-up, who is anyone else to say otherwise?
