Victoria's Secret to Stop Printing Its Catalog
Lingerie company Victoria's Secret will no longer print its self-esteem damaging catalog anymore, according to Adweek.
With the end of the print catalog, does this mean VS will focus less on their Angels and move towards a more body-positive campaign? Of course not. This is about money.
The company produced an estimate of 300 million copies of its catalogs yearly, costing $125- $150M annually. In the fourth quarter of 2015, VS reduced the number of catalogs it released by 40 percent. This test run showed VS didn't see a negative impact on its sales with less catalogs in circulation. So they're getting scrapped altogether.
But how will this effect you? The end of the print catalog means your self-image will remain intact. But if you must follow the VS Angels, follow their Instagram account.
