Boohoo Plus Angers Customers by Featuring Straight Size Model
Yesterday, Strutter posted about the decline of the supermodel with retail customers for more relatable, lesser known models. The rise of the plus size model is also credited for knocking out the more bold-faced names when scoring fashion campaigns. Today, Strutter came across an example of what happens when a e-commerce site hires the wrong model.
Daily Mail U.K. reported that Boohoo Plus is under fire for using a size 10 model to showcase its plus-size clothing, ranging from sizes 14-26. U.K. model and blogger Georgina Horne saw the image online yesterday, and posted on social media: 'I love how size 16+ these @boohoo Plus models are,' Horne's post attracted hundreds of comments on Twitter and Instagram.
The photo in question has since been removed from Boohoo Plus. No word from Boohoo yet about why they chose a straight size model for its plus size site.
