Russian Airline Sued for Weight Discrimination
In Russia, two flight attendants sued their employer, Aeroflot for discrimination against their weight.
In the case, the flight attendants accused their bosses of moving them off the schedule for international routes to lower-paid domestic flights. One of the attendants in who sued claimed the airline photographed, measured and—in some instances—weighed crew members in the name of company uniform rebranding
The court sided with Aeroflot. Airline official Nikita Krichevsky said the lower salaries should be seen as an incentive to lose weight rather than a punishment.
