New York & Company Acquires Fashion to Figure

Struggling plus size retailer Fashion to Figure was acquired by woman's apparel chain New York & Company this week.

The agreement will further develop New York and Company's plus size division, as it has access to Fashion to Figure's intellectual property, which includes trademarks, in-store assets and its customer database.

New York & Company will also hire select employees from Fashion to Figure's design, merchandising and eCommerce department. The retailer, who has collaborated on clothing lines with celebrities like Eva Mendes and Gabrielle Union, is negotiating with a number of market vendors in an effort to secure inventory for its relaunch in 2018.
