Designers Finally Get It, Create Extended Lines

Earlier this week, shoe designer Jeffrey Campbell announced the launch of a capsule shoe collection featuring extended sizes.

Designed in partnership with model La’Shaunae Steward , the five-piece shoe collection includes three pairs of thigh-high, wide-shaft boots and two pairs of wide-fitting, heeled sandals.

Also announced this week, designer Ashely Nell Tipton's new plus size spring/summer line featuring extended sizes in jewelry like necklaces, rings and bracelets.

While Tipton's been designing for plus sizes awhile now, this is the first time Jeffrey Campbell collaborated with a plus size model for extended sizes. Maybe they consulted with Christian Siriano, who says designers will "triple the business" like he did if they extend their size ranges. Given the state of retail stores, maybe more designers will take heed to Siriano's claim.
