Some Designers Don't Get it, Refuse to Promote Extended Lines

Last week, Strutter reported an uptick on extended sizes on everything from jewelry to shoes. However, there are still a few designers who are keeping its extended sizing quiet.

According to the New York Post, Jason Wu , Lululemon and J.Crew have now added up to size 14 to its respective clothing lines, but two out of the three companies would go on the record about it.

Lululemon acknowledged its extended sizes, but were also quick to remind the Post that they added a size 0 as well as 14 to their activewear line.

industry insiders give two reasons why some designers and retailers stay quiet about its new sizing— they don't want to drive away its straight size clientele or admit that they ignored 67% of women. If it's the latter, does any business want to admit they didn't fulfill a need in the market?
